Ramones SF Civic Center 1979

The Ramones play a free outdoor show at the San Francisco Civic Center in 1979. Wish I coulda been there to see this, but wasn't a West Coaster in those days.

Spider Man

Marky Ramone on Sirius Update

Sirius keeps moving their channel line up around. But Marky is still there. His show, Marky Ramone's Punk Rock Blitzkrieg can be found on Sirius Faction Channel 28. The Punk Channel 29 is now gone. The text from Sirius Faction webpage:

Marky Ramone's Punk Rock Blitzkrieg
Tuesdays 8 pm ET
Rebroadcast: Saturday 3 pm ET
The Ramones weren't just a punk band; for many, they epitomized everything cool about punk rock. Listen Tuesday nights as long-time drummer Marky Ramone plays live, rare and archival Ramones material, plus music that influenced the band, and classic and contemporary punk. He'll also host live in-studio guests and take calls from listeners. That could be you... talking to one of the Ramones. Pretty cool.

You can also listen if you have Dish Network's 200 Channel package or above. One of the best shows you will hear on radio. Guaranteed.

The Ramones on the Regis & Kathy Lee Show promoting Ramones Mania.
They seem kinda uncomfortable, classic video.

CBGB's Alum Lux Interior 1946-2009

Fellow CBGB's alum Lux Interior from the Cramps passed away on Feb 4, 2009 at the age of 62. This is Lux singing a Dee Dee song (Bad Horoscope) from one of Dee Dee's solo records - Ain't it Fun/Zonked. Not a bad pop punk song. Psychedelic Jungle was one of my favorite records back in the 80's. The Cramps played in SF on Halloween for many years. I never got to see them live unfortunately. "One half hillbilly and one half punk" as Lux sings in Garbageman. I'd say RIP Lux, but I bet he's "tearing that damn place up".
